nurse to patient ratio

I will be working in a nursing home in connecticut. Will a nurse to patient ratio or nurse to resident ratio of 1:15 for acute cases, and 1:30 for long-term cases be a fair enough patient load? Thanks!

Re: nurse to patient ratio

I had 47 - 48 in LTC. I would love to have 30.

1:15 is an excellent ratio. I worked in one SNF where the nurses had 14 patients each...a combination of long term and rehab and they complained they had too much work. They didn't know how lucky they were.
