What's the policy where you work?

I used to be in charge nights at a LTC facility where they did not do pre employment drug screening. Well, several of the night aides smoked, and I did not accompany them outside or check on them when they went on brake. Then a certain aide came back from maternity leave, and several things were happening that I was getting questioned about
: long distance phone calls etc. Several times we could not find her throughout the whole facility!!! We have no idea where she went. I reported her several times. Then one morning after my shift that I worked with her, another worker found a joint in one of the ashtrays outside. I was questioned about it, but the DON said she knew who did it. I quit, and the aide still works there, and I've heard there have been similar instances during and after her shift. I for one, am all for the drug testing to keep people like this out of the healthcare profession!
