Help!!.. Seminar abt nursing problems and errors!!

How u doin guys.

i`m a student nurse in 3rd yr.. our tearcher tell me to participate in seminar abt nursing errors and problems and i dont have any idea what should i read and search for.

eg: a physician asked the nurse to do order of something, anything umm for example to give and injection, and the nurse knows it`s not time for that. Ethicaly what should the nurse do? Nursing problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

any idea
i appriciate ur help .. thnx alot

In my experience (very little) the nurse usualy lets the doc know in a polite way that the patient has already had X amount of said drug or that she feels X drug may conflict because in the ER there is one doc taking care of several patients and the idea is that if everyone works as a team errors are minimized in pt care. now is this system perfect ...no it depends on how flexible the doc is and how polite the nurse. but as far as I know in texas if a nurse messes up and gives meds even following docs orders.. that are outside of excepted standards and there is a negative outcome the law will go after both licenses.
