Why not? If she does it for me, that is, and if I weren't married, who cares what the profession is?

Sure, if I wasn't already married.

Hmmm...
Yes, you should marry the person and not the profession; however, aren't most MD's married to their profession? I'd probably never see her.

Re: Would you marry a female MD?

So, my ex-future fiancee, a very pretty and very sweet neurology resident who you never minded paging as a brand-new nurse, because she never made you feel stupid, even when you were, finished up her residency and went off to some podunk little hospital in Minnesota--you may have heard of it. Lots of other cute docs around, and most of them seem nice, too, but I'm old fashioned, and not sure I'd be comfortable marrying outside my service. There was an adorable psychiatry resident who did a neuro rotation this summer, but that raises my whole fear of commitment problem.
So I'm sure you guys will be relieved to know we have a new neurosurgery resident who is cute as a bug's ear, very nice to patients and nurses, half my age, and (bonus!) female. Haven't heard whether she's married, but that's not all that relevant.

It was interesting (at least to me) that when I started as a nurse, almost all of our neuro residents were women, and all the neurosurgeons were men. Now neuro is about 50/50, and we have a female neurogurgeon. There have been other women in neurosurgery, but that was back when I was in my unlicensed job and had very little to do with doctors.
