Re: Support For Male Nurses!!!

Welcome to allnurses.com, and thanks for the support. FYI, when posting on internet discussion boards, posting in all capital letters is taken as "shouting" and considered poor form. (I had no idea of this until I started posting on allnurses, but I guess it's sort of universal, like those weird abbreviations: LOL, IMHO, etc.)
As far as tips for working with females, I don't have much to offer. Mainly, I guess, just that women are people, too, and want pretty much what everyone else (i.e., men) do. That, and go a little easier on comments about hooters and such than you might in a male-dominated environment. Also, while it may occassionally be medically appropriate to discuss a patient's menstrual cycle, there's no good reason to bring up a coworker's.
I do, typically, whenever a female coworker has severe nausea, helpfully suggest that she may be pregnant. But that's just me, and I don't actually recommend it.

Re: Support For Male Nurses!!!

As goody-two-shoes as it may seem I try to be an exemplary gentleman. There have been a couple of times some of them tried to bait me into flirting, and or taking part in sexual inuendo. I just turn red and keep this rule: Don't go there.

Re: Support For Male Nurses!!!

I like working with nurses too. I've never had any sort of problem with a female co-worker. I've been married for 26 years to my favorite RN, most of the women that I work with know her, and I've never had to deal with any social problems at work.
