Yes, on 2 occasions. Both dealt with nurses that had issues with men in nursing. One verbalized it, the other one was just nasty to any male who was on the floor regardless of profession.

Not really, but I do get comments that it's nice to see more men in nursing.

I once didn't get a head nurse job, and the rumour flew round that the (male) doctor on the interview panel fancied the less qualified, blonde, female who did get the job. I'm prepared to accept that this may well just have been vicious gossip, but who knows?

Having trained in the UK, worked there and moved to France, I would say I notice a big cultural difference. Gender in nursing is not such an issue in France - in the UK it sometimes was.
