Re: Male Nursing Shoes?

I have been nursing for 4 years now, I have gone through shoes on a monthly basis. Cheap ones, mid-line ones, and expensive ones.
I "invested" in a set of Z-COILS back in Nov, 2007. Most expensive shoes I've bought. I still wear them to work. www.zcoil.com

Do you mean Nov. of 2006 ? Otherwise, could I borrow your time machine? It will just be for a second. Which model/ Style of Z-Coil? Any problems with the open heel and cords/ tubes? In my current dept (non-nursing), on of my fellow assoc. raves about her Zcoils and has finally convinced another assoc to try them out. I'm waiting to hear what she has to say about them. She's a really big shoe hog. We went rafting for the weekend and she brought like 17 pairs of shoes and sandals.

With about 1 1/2 years of use I've had my coils snag a cord twice, so yes it is possible. But you can buy covered coils, I think they're about $40 for the pair. You can also get your coils rotated, because each side of the coil has a different stiffness. And there are also soft, medium, and hard coils; I think when you buy the shoes they come with the medium coils.

Re: Male Nursing Shoes?

I haven't really caught my coils on cords, but while stepping on an iv pole to hold it while i'm placing a pump, had my heel get caught. I also broke one of the actual springs, so they replaced it under warranty.
You'll also get alot of comments from others about them. Everyday, patients as well as staff comment on how odd they look. But I still wear them and enjoy them.
