Re: Male Nursing Shoes?

I've worn Dr. Scholls Tx sneaks which are only $40 at Famous Footwear. Built in gels with padding and support as well as no slip soles. Super comfortable in straight white with no insignias.

Re: Male Nursing Shoes?

For lace up shoes I must go with New Balance. I have some superbirkis or whatever. Wish they were vented. Many people I know are raving about CROCS. Might have to give them a shot......light, relatively inexpensive (when compared to certain "professional clogs"), and have holes for venting.

Cool Re: Male Nursing Shoes?

Hello my fellow nurse brothers...

Before I take the plunge and dole out $110 for Birkenstock clogs... which color do you think is better assuming your hospital has no policy when it comes to color?

Am asking because am worried it will clash with future scrub solids since we can wear any color.

Considering the "Boston" variety...

White? <---- Traditional?

Brown?

or
Black?

Not good with matching stuff fellas...

Thanks in Advance!

Re: Male Nursing Shoes?

One option is to go to a store specializing in running shoes, and add in a pair of insoles. These places usually let you try on as many pairs of shoes as you want and run around the store to get a feel. Some places will even measure your arch and so forth. From personal experience, each brand has their own structure, that's why I can never wear Nike's. Some stores around me include Runner's High, Snail's Pace, and Roadrunner Sports.

Having said that, I wear Z-Coils with cushion insoles. They look ridiculous and cost quite a bit, but the customer service is second-to-none and well... you wouldn't wear ACME shoes if they didn't actually work. www.zcoil.com

Re: Male Nursing Shoes?

I was extremely pleased to find that Professional SUper Birkis are wide enough to accomodate my feet. I'm a 13 EEEE and while New Balance is the only shoe company that makes sneakers that fit me, I wanted something less sporty to wear with my scrubs. Once I tried them on I was hooked. I wasn't allowed to wear them in school because they weren't white, so I had a pair of professional Crocs for clinical days. I'd recommend either one, but the Birkis are the greatest.

Crocs professionals are the best. No holes on top, they breathe, and are extremely comfortable.
