Male Nursing Forum Reminder

Gentle reminder to everyone: Please remember this is a male nursing forum and the topics should stick to issues to Men in Nursing, it is not a general Off topic forum for Men. Please keep the topics to Nursing related issues

The objective of this forum to allow males in nursing a place to discuss topics that are specific to Men in Nursing. Please keep the forum on topic, professional, clean, and non-sexist in nature. Let's all post with respect to others and make this forum a success!

Thanks!

Does this mean we should only discuss farting as it relates to the workplace?

Male Nursing Forum Reminder #2

Hello folks,

While cruising around the Male forums, I often come across posts (posted by ladies) such as:

I guess it is not my place to post in the "mens forum".
I guess it's time I qualified something about this recurrent theme.

While the focus of the "Male Nursing Forum" is to help men in nursing find some kind of common ground to explore their adventures together - it is by no means an exclusive forum.

I think I speak for all men here when I say that we welcome the input from our female counterparts in the profession. Hey, who knows - if men and women are at some kind of impasse in real life, mayhap we could break the deadlock here, online?

So I re-iterate:
The focus of this forum is oriented towards men in nursing.
It by no means excludes the ladies from participating

Thank You!

Had a lengthy remark typed, but i'll just make it short and sweet (since the odds of deletion are good): it doesn't seem non-exclusive (hence the reason why this is my one and only post here). JMO

Re: Male Nursing Forum Reminder #2

Thanks Roy for the post. As this forum has shown, a man's perspective of his nursing profession is just as valid as a woman's perspective. Both sides grow from the dialog. Without dialog, we are only stuck with our gender-filled myths and stereotypes. Men often need to check it out with other men. There is certainly nothing wrong in this. This forum has allowed men the freedom to explore this for themselves. Your invite to crack open the door to the ladies only improves the dialog further in relation to the topic of Men in Nursing. 20 years ago when I became a RN, only 1% of all nurses were men....now it is 6 times as much. This trend will continue to grow and so will the need for dialog...for men (as well as for women who work with them) in this great profession we call Nursing. There will always be naysayers, but the majority of women in nursing do not fit this category. The naysayers are quite the minority.

Thanks again, Roy.

Thanks for clearing that up. I had often wanted to post here but thought it was 'men only'. Now I know.

It is non-inclusive in that females are allowed to post here and they do in large amounts.

But the topics are primarly brought up by males about male topics, so of course it is exclusive, in the same way the LPN to RN forum is exclusive primarily to those students, or pre-students seeking information. It's not a free-for-all.

Re: Male Nursing Forum Reminder #2

Roy, I for one appreciate the female comments. Especially when males post comments on how they persume female nurses to be.
