Re: How many females are "peeking" in this forum?

Not peeking, reading unabashedly. My husband is an RN, as am I. He doesn't read this board, but I do. This forum can sometimes open up conversations. We talk about work, yes, on a day to day basis, but I think this forum can open up topics and subjects that I wouldn't automatically realize that we might have a different point of view on.

In fact, he's at work tonight, I'm at home, and there is a specific thread that he and I are corresponding on at this moment.

In my previous life, (before RN) I was used to working in a male dominated field. I think it is very enlightening to see the other side of the coin.

My husband is a RN as well. He never looks at this site because he is lazy, lol. But he has several male co-workers, so it's good to see more men in the profession. I'm in nursing school currently and my decision to go into nursing was because he was so excited about it. I like to know what issues he faces or might face as a male RN so we can talk about it.

Also, you guys are so laid back that it's a nice break from the drama frequently found in other forums.

P.S. There's nothing hotter than a man in scrubs!

Re: How many females are "peeking" in this forum?

I agree with the above poster...you guys really discuss an issue without the cattiness and histrionics that can occur in a mainly female-populated forum.

Plus it's inspiring to hear how you cope with being a "minority"...and you tend not to go all crazy with the emoticons!
