Re: Guys, do you wear your wedding band to work?

I hate wearing jewelry, especially rings.

I wore my wedding ring for awhile but had to keep removing it for various things at work. At home, it got dinged up and was always getting dirty. I finally stopped wearing it altogether several years ago and am much happier about it.

In truth, it does bother my wife a little bit but she has become used to the idea. It's never been an issue in the past because I always worked in predominantly male environments. Perhaps being in a nursing environment will have me rethink things. Perhaps I'll wear it on a necklace. I don't know where it is, though.

Re: Guys, do you wear your wedding band to work?

You guys totally crack me up!

DH (who works on corporate America - no infection control, or danger issues) has stopped wearing his ring for several years. I'm not excited about it, but have dealt with it. He, however, claims he was hit on much more when he wore it. (Travels a lot for job.)

I wear a band w/ set in stones, to avoid snagging tender skin and/or gloves. But, w/ good handwashing and a responsible use of gloves I've never worried about carrying little bugs. I have also seen people wearing their ring(s) on a saftey pin attached to scrubs. But, that seemed to me like asking to accidentally lose it...

I wear my ring all the time. Never take it off. It's a band and fits easily underneath gloves. I'd feel downright naked without it at this point.

I wear mine. I wash my hands. Don't see a problem with it.

The alcohol cleansers we use nowadays probably keep the germs to a minimum. Wear your wedding ring...unless of course...

As a single male, I've always considered rings (or any jewelry) to be too much of a hassle to wear -- maybe that would change if I had a ball and chain giving me hell for it though!

Re: Guys, do you wear your wedding band to work?

I hope to be accepted into a ABSN program in March.
I lost my wedding ring years ago and went back to wearing a family heirloom that I had been wearing since I was 16. I took it off whenever I performed a procedure on a patient when I was a hospital corpsman in the USN.
The other day I mentioned to my wife that I'd like a very simple wedding band because I wanted to wear one and I'd keep it on a chain around my neck when in the hospital.
She asked why me why I wanted to bother with a band because she's not worried about it.
Gotta love that lady!
So I will probably skip the new wedding band and skip wearing a ring too (30 years married this Aug).

Mark
