GI endoscopy interview next week!

Hi everyone, I am applying for a GI endoscopy position at the hospital where I currently work, and would like some advice about how to land the position!

The position is brand new. Currently in our small community hospital, the OR nurses rotate through endoscopy. They decided to create a dedicated endoscopy position. As far as I know, none of the current OR nurses want the position.

I've worked on med-surg for 4 1/2 years -- my only nursing job. The only perioperative experience I have is taking fresh post-op patients. The surgical nurse-manager knows me, likes me, and (I think) thinks highly of me; we serve on a hospital committee together. However, I have applied twice for an ambulatory surgery position, and she hired someone else (the other applicants had worked on the unit per diem). I had aced my interview with her the first time, and she actually told me that I had her vote, but then this other person applied.

In my favor: I have moved forward on my clinical ladder, I serve on two committees and am in a leadership role on my unit, I am working towards my BSN, and I have ACLS. I want the position because I really enjoy surgical patients over the medical ones. I am fascinated by anatomy and physiology, and the one time I observed in the OR as a student I was so thrilled to be able to see inside the body. The anesthesia fascinated me also.

Can anyone give me any pointers on how I can make my interview go well for me? What are they looking for in an endoscopy nurse?
