Colonoscopy with ICD

I am a nursing student who is doing a paper on ICD's and what adjustments need to be made for screening procedures. I was wondering if a patient has an ICD what adjustments needs to be made if any for a patient to have a colonoscopy.

Thanks in advance.

We have the rep present. If you use cautery you have to turn off the ICD. We then have them interrogate it afterward. Pretty standard actually. We only due ICD's at the hospital due to the coordination and the ASA.

Re: Colonoscopy with ICD

David,

Thanks for your helping. I did not even think about having to cut the ICD off for certain procedures. Got to go add that into my paper.
