For those of you doing your externship...

What is your patient assignment for the day, what assignments are made fot the RN? How do you and your mentor prioritize the start of the day? What assessments do you initially perform for each patient? What was the rationale?

From your assignment, how do you prioritize the order of patients assessed and subsequently, what assessments you initially performed for each patient. What whas the rationale for your prioritization?

What tasks/responsibilites do you delegate to other personnel? what were their reactions?

I'm on the trauma burn unit and we only have two patients so I don't have a lot of prioritizing....I'm curious to know how you do this...thanx
