hi there.. i'm a newbie here and i pretty much don't know where to go.. i just need a little help w/ my & my husband's thesis (we are both in our 3rd year). it's about Beliefs and Practices of Moslems surrounding Pregnancy & Childbirth. It's actually about Filipino Moslems, but any info about Moslems and their beliefs and practices re pregnancy/childbirth in general should help. We have a questionnaire ready, we just need a little info as to where to send it. Do any of you guys know a website specific to Moslem forums? Can't seem to find anything useful on google. thanks!! The paper that you are having to write is actually what we call a research paper in the US, the thesis is used when you are getting a Master's degree here for the research project that one is involved with for most of their program.

Moved your thread to the Student Forum that we have here, where it is more appropriate.

Can tell you that you are going to find it hard to get people to respond to your questionaire about their beliefs. There is already much written on this topic if you take the time to read or research some of the books out there on dealing with patients from other cultures.


If you are specific to Filipinos that are also under the Moslem faith, you may wish to make contact with some of the Mosques that are there in your country, that would be an excellent starting point for you. I would go directly to the source and ask them there. You are not going to find much written by them directly, but only be researchers that have made studies about the practice. Most are very private and do not discuss anything having to do with the female body.

Yeah, I know it will be hard to find informants. We do have a number of respondents already, they're from a Muslim acquaintance of ours. They do seem to be very private indeed. Okay, I will try to get a hold of someone from the Mosques, maybe I'll find luck there. We also plan to go to the Muslim Affairs Office here in the Philippines, we're hoping they can point us in the right direction.

Btw, our paper is due 3rd week of April. Thank you so much for your help.
