Hi everybdoy. I am about to finish my first semester in the RN program and next semester will be Peri-Op and Ob/Peds. I wanted to know if anybody knows of a great website that I can browse or videos that I can purchase about clinical skills. I will be very much appreciated.

this site is FABULOUS and FREE! it has most any procedure u can think of, just be careful if your school teaches some things a different way, for example they teach IM injections by a different method than we used.

I have this one, it has: elimination management (includes catheters, NG tubes for decompression, peritoneal dialysis, gastric lavage, etc.), drug management (shots and other drug admin), tissue perfusion mgmt (venipuncture, IVs), nutrition support (NG tubes, enteral feedings, g tube, etc.), respiratory mgmt (O2, trach care, suctioning, chest tubes, etc.). There's like 60 or 70 procedures in all.

"Covers risk management, activity and exercise, self-care facilitation, immobility management, and skin and wound management."

Thank you very much for all your help! I'll try the websites. By the way, I heard that there's a clinical skills book by Potter & Perry and I heard good stuff about it. Does anybody know if it comes in video? What about Clinical skills by Mosby? The book we'll be using is Medical-Surgical Nursing by Lewis & Dirksen. I tried to search information re: clinical skills but I forgot where I found it. I think it was under Evolve or Elsevier?...

Our school uses Clinical Nursing Skills & Techniques (5th ed) by Perry & Potter & it is great. I don't know about the video, but the isbn # is 0-323-01406-2

Thank you for the info! I'll make sure to look in on that. I also noticed that at my clinical, the hospital staff were using Potter and Perry as well. So I think that means that it IS a great book afterall:p .

i just brought these vid i prefer these over the books because i know many times i read things but still dont get it. i am a visual learner so these vid are just excellent. try amazon they sell these bids in a bundle for a good deal

Thank you for the information on the skills video. I'll make sure to check with Amazon regarding those CDs. As a matter of fact, I just ordered books from Amazon and I'm surprised that they arrived on time. I wished that I would've done that for my first semester when instead, I purchased my books through half.com and didn't get my Nanda until school was almost over. :o
