New Nursing Student Looking for Student nurse notes

I am a new Nursing student beginning my program in January 2007. I love nursing and I would love to have old nursing notes for review as well as additional information to have prior to class. Does anyone know where I can possibly get old former Nurisng student Nursing notes?

Thanks in advance,
New nursing student.

Different nursing schools emphasize different parts in the nursing sections. Even teachers within the same school will teach and highlight seperate ideas. So getting another students notes probably wont help you much. You would be better off getting review series books. There are several you can choose from. Prentice Hall, Lippincott, Made Increadably Easy, to name just a few. Have a great time in nursing school.

Re: New Nursing Student Looking for Student nurse notes

I agree that using others' notes will probably not be beneficial -- and could be risky if the information is outdated or interpreted incorrectly...as mentioned above, I'd invest in some good books....I am in love with the Incredibly Easy series and have found the Fluids & Electrolytes and Pathophysiology books very helpful as an adjunct to my text...another gal in my class purchased their drug or meds book, which I thought was also a great idea!!

Best wishes!!

Re: New Nursing Student Looking for Student nurse notes

I think some of the old notes can really help. I do have some notes from a different school and the notes were helpful.

Re: New Nursing Student Looking for Student nurse notes

Find a friend in the semester ahead of you and copy them. But use them as an adjunct to your own notes, definitely--don't rely on someone else because notes are so personal.

Then, find someone in the semester behind you and do the same for them.

I think it's helpful to have notes from earlier semesters sometimes, but I don't know how helpful my own notes would be because we all come to NS with such different knowledge and mine reflect what I don't already know.

Re: New Nursing Student Looking for Student nurse notes

I am not interested in the notes to take the place of my own. I would just like the use them as a additional study tool and possibly read others point of view on different topics. I think that looking at others notes and the various styles of thking notes may help me in developing my own style of taking notes during the Nursing program. I am very new at this I start next Monday : )

Did you get your books and your syllabus yet? Much (if not all) of the topics you will cover in your nursing program will be listed in those references.

There are a few nursing school notes posted on this site in the following threads:

Good tips here: How to Survive Nursing School and Your First Year as a Nurse

When I went to nursing school, we had a "Big sister/ big brother" program in which a senior student would be assigned to informally mentor a new student coming into the program. Mine was kind enough to share copies of her notes from classes. This proved to be a big help but was only relevant when I was in the particular class.

You must be so excited You'll do great! I've found that some teachers have better powerpoints than others and so using earlier semesters notes can be invaluable, especially if you happen to have an instructor with umm, sketchier powerpoints

Re: New Nursing Student Looking for Student nurse notes

I know that their are alot of nursing students on ebay selling their notes. You can buy them for a reasonable price. Don't get sucked in too much because it can be addicting.

Also it can be helpful but like to other posters said use were notes. Good luck to you.
