I can't seem to get the chattanoogastate library to work..it keeps asking for log in info..do you have to be a student of that college to get it to work? Looks like a great site.

http://medicine.osu.edu/exam/ - this is the link that was given to you above. It is from Ohio State University College of Medicine, an Interactive Guide to Physical Examination for 8 body systems and includes sounds. Has an interactive blood pressure cuff (the link is toward the bottom of the page, "Take a blood Pressure") where you click on a blood pressure bulb to start the inflation of the cuff. You will then hear and watch the manometer and tell the program what the final blood pressure is. It re-cycles to give you lots of practice!

http://library.chattanoogastate.edu/taylor/ - Taylor's Video Guide to Clinical Nursing Skills. Includes vital signs, Asepsis, Oral and Topical Medications, injectable medications, intravenous medications, perioperative nursing care, hygiene, skin integrity and wound care, activity, nutrition, urinary elimination, indwelling and intermittent catheters, bowel elimination, oxygenation, trach care, IV therapy and central venous access devices.

http://medinfo.ufl.edu/other/opeta/vital/VS_main.html - videos on how to take vital signs

http://cal.fmc.flinders.edu.au/gemp/ClinicalSkills/clinskil/default.htm - basic clinical skills. Includes vital signs, BLS, cardiovascular skills, respiratory skills, injection techniques, examinations of rectum, pelvis, breast and eye, IV cannulation, local anesthesia and suturing. From Flinders School of Medicine, Bedford Park, South Australia.

It seems they password protected the link. I will remove it. I found another website yesterday where you can access skills videos. It is a complete online nursing course on the principles and practice of nursing. This is a huge website with extensive information. Click on the various links under the subject headings to find what you are looking for. In many cases there are videos to view (the links will be off to the sides of the web page you are on).
  • http://nursing411.org/Courses.html - Basic Nursing (Nursing Fundamentals I, Nursing Fundamentals II, Nursing Care of the Surgical Patient, Obstetrics and Newborn Care I, Obstetrics and Newborn Care II, Introduction to Practical Nursing, Nursing Care Related to the Musculoskeletal System, Nursing Care Related to the Cardiovascular and Respiratory Systems, Nursing Care Related to the Gastrointestinal and Urinary Systems, Nursing Care Related to the Sensory and Neurological Systems), Nursing Procedures, Surgical Nursing, Pharmacology, Laboratory, Environmental Issues, Injuries and Illness, Basic Anatomy/Physiology/Pathology and Nuclear, Biologic and Chemical Issues
