Freaking out about Student loan!

Hey guys, I just got into my LPN program. I paid all the classes and books out of the last amount of money I had left from last semesters student loan at another school.

At the moment I have not a penny to my name now, but I am enrolled in LPN school.

I went to go reapply for another loan for this term so live off and pay for next terms classes, but it appears my college ISNT on any student loan list..

I go to Sheridan Technical Center in Hollywood FL. My other loan provider, Astrive.com, doesnt list it.. Nor does any other loan company I have looked at..

I need help What can I do?

Re: Freaking out about Student loan!

Many of my classmates, myself included, worked through LPN school. It wasn't that bad and our grades were as good if not better than the people who didn't work. Its only a year. Good luck. Jules

Many banks offer student loans.

Maybe one of your local hospitals would pay for school if you signed a contract to work with them. You should be able to get a refund back on what you hav already paid if it works out. (Just a thought)

If your credit is good you could always take out a personal loan to pay for school and work part time to help make the payments.

I used a TERI loan for my school, which didn't accept federal loans.... check it out. I think the site is TERI

You can also check out Sallie Mae if you're interested in comparing loans for school:

http://www.salliemae.com/get_student...understanding/

Click on the links that read:
A private Signature Student Loan® or Tuition Answer Loan® could also help you get your graduate degree.

Since I already have a BS, I can't qualify for much in the way or loans or grants, but this has helped during my first year. I dread thinking of the interest I'm accruing, but didn't feel comfortable trying to work full-time while in RN school.

Best wishes!

Re: Freaking out about Student loan!

Besides worrying about needing the actual money, what would worry me about this situation is the accreditation status of your school. Assuming these are Stafford loans we're talking about, it would be worrisome to me if my school wasn't eligible.

Re: Freaking out about Student loan!

The school I am in is accredited and is one of the better LPN programs here. However the school itself is very small and very selective. We only have 24 people maximum per class, and theres only 125 LPN students in the entire program.

For whatever reason the school isnt linked to any private loans. I just wish I knew that before I started so I could have prepared better. As for working my situation doesnt allow it .

Sorry, I didn't understand that you were talking about a private loan. Have you looked into Stafford loans, which are the government backed ones? I thought they were available to anyone going to an accredited school... at least, they were back in my day, before they were actually called Stafford loans.
