Smile Can anyone Suggest a good Medical Terminology Book?

I am starting my RN program in the fall and I am trying to "brush up" on my medical terminology before the semester begins. Can anyone suggest a good, to the point, medical terminology reference?

Thanks!!

Kiddo, I taught medical terminology. Forget getting a textbook. Get a good medical dictionary and keep it with you. Look up medical terms as you encounter them. Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary is excellent and geared to nurses with a lot of useful goodies in the appendix. It also has a nursing assessment form in the center of it. You can look up the definitions of most word roots, suffixes and prefixes in Taber's either in the general listings or in a medical terminology section in its appendix. Another physically larger dictionary is Mosby's Medical, Nursing, & Allied Health Dictionary, but it does not have all the nursing extras that Taber's has.

To brush up on medical terminology there are free online resources you can utilize. I listed them on post #20 of this sticky thread on this forum:
