I am new to this forum, but have recently visited when I was awaiting my results from my boards. I would first like to share my success story with all.
I am a 27 year old wife and mother of 2. I decided to go back to school when we couldn't make ends meet and so forth. I started school and did some of my prenursing classes over the course of 2 years. It was hard to fit everything in with a job and kids at home. I entered into the nursing program in the fall of 2003. I was excited, nervous ect... I was doing good in school and clinicals were going to be starting up. I was nervous. I remember the thursday before my clinicals I was pressing my uniforms and getting everything ready for my tuesday clinicals. I went to work that friday night and didn't get off until four thirty saturday morning. I was tired from school, work, and taking care of my family. I went to bed only to be awoken 30 min later. my husband said I had some people there to see me. I went to the dining room and there stood a cop and another guy that I later found out to be a coroner. My father had been in a bad car wreck, and he didn't make it. My whole world came crashing down. I didn't know what to do. I was lost. I decided to take it one day at a time. I ended up missing my first 2 clinicals, which one of them I made up. My teacher was awesome, and she took care of me when I came back to school. I made it through because I believed that was what my father wanted for me. 6 months went by and everything was going good. I sent my daughter off on a girl scout trip, only to recieve a call saying she had been in an accident on the highway. I drove for 30 min scared out of my head. I got to the hospital, she was ok, thank god. She did recieve a concusion and had alot of bruises, but she was ok. I was now challenged with caring for her for the week she was sick and going to school. I also made it through that. The final thing was for the last 3 mnths of the nusing program my mother and I cared for my step-dad whom was dying from CHF. We drove him back and forth to the university hospital which is and hour and a half away. He passed on a month before I graduated. These 2 men in my life were so proud of me. I had no choice but to move on. This is not a sad story, this is a story of survival, this is for all those out there that feel like they cant go on. You can and if you dont give up you can accomplish anything. I took my boards two days ago, all 265 questions and I found out today I PASSED!!!!! Unbelievable It is finally over. I want all to take my story and say I can do it, because you can, dont ever give up. God will never give you something you cant handle. Sorry this is so long, and nice to meet you all,

And thank you for sharing such a truly inspirational testimony. This should be quite an encouragement to many of our viewers. When I look at some of my students and their personal struggles and perseverence, it truly humbles me. Your story reminds me of this poem:
