Thank you for the congratulations, Becca and txgirl! I'm stoked and amazed. I hope y'all get into the programs you're hoping for!
Congrats!!

I bet you are excited! If you dont mind, what is your overall GPA & your science GPA? Did you have high NET scores? Also, did you apply with the minimum credits or did you apply when you had all your pre-req's done?
My undergrad is from Tulane (B.A., French, 2007), and I graduated with a 3.78 overall and a 4.0 major GPA. My science scores were around the 3.0 mark, I don't know what they were exactly, but I definitely didn't have perfect scores. I took the GRE for UT-Austin and got a 1340 out of 1600 and a 4.5 writing.
I sort of applied to UTHSC-Houston, as I'm living on West Alabama right by the light rail. It would have been so convenient and awesome to go to UTHSC. Their faculty seem really cool, and the school itself is brand new and allegedly one of the best in the country. Austin can't really compare in hospital facilities to Houston, but it's nice to know that after the first 15 months at UT, it's possible to work anywhere in Texas.
Anyway, with UTHSC-H, I turned everything in and took the NET late last year, but didn't pay the admissions fee because I was really discouraged by the admit rate of like 8%, even having decent GPAs and whatnot, lol. My aunt says I was stupid not to apply, because I'm a guy and would probably be a shoe-in. No crying over spilt milk, I guess.
Two days after the due date, I realized I should have applied to the UTMB-Galveston program because it's the same thing and probably has a much higher admit rate. For those of you wanting to do Houston, maybe you should give UTMB a try.
Let us know how everything turns out, and good luck once again!
