I am just wondering if anyone is working as a CNA part time and going to school full-time? Especially if there is anyone in Nursing School and doing this. I would really like to get in the hospital and I am a CNA but I am afraid it will affect my studies. And if anyone is doing this, what kind of hours does a part-time CNA incur? TIA!
Oh yeah it can be done. However you must be willing to be tired and lose A LOT of sleep. Right now I am in a nursing program, work full time and take care of my two toddlers. I will not lie....it is super hard, but in the end it will all be worth it!! (maybe then I can catch up on sleep!!!)
Good Luck

Coco are you in the nursing program full-time? Ack, I have 2 young children (and a dog) as well! I'm used to no sleep, but it's the study time I'm concerned about! But you are right, it will be worth it in the end!
well see.. since i do private duty in the pts home, i only have one person to care for and sice it is at night he is sleeping , so i study then and have plenty of time to do it! i also only work 3 days a week since i pull 12 hour shifts! its not always fun but it works best for me and the pay is good lol!!!!!
I worked at one of our local hospitals part time (either Friday or Saturday and then Sundays) while going to school full time (Mon-Thurs). I found that I had plenty of time to study after class and then on my day off, house work was put to the side but my fiance' helped out a lot with that. It can be done if you get priorities where you want them. Ask for the help of family or friends if possible. Good luck.

PS since I worked for a year during school once I graduated I was able to transfer to an LPN job fairly easily.
