Just thought I'd ask everyone what classes they are enrolled in for the fall (and a couple of other questions)! I'll go first... you can copy and paste the following, if you'd like, and fill in your own answers

CLASSES for FALL 2006: A&P 1 and Intro Chemistry

CLASSES for SPRING 2006 (if you know): hopefully A&P 2 and Psych

PROGRAM: ADN

WHEN STARTED PRE-REQs: this is my first semester

WHEN YOU PLAN TO APPLY for CLINICALS: hopefully in the spring (applying for Fall 2007)

PROJECTED GRADUATION: hopefully Fall '08 ... if not, then Spring '09.

MOST NERVOUS about: balancing family and school (I have a husband and two young sons - ages 1 and 3); chemistry (haven't had that course in sooo long!)

WANT TO BE A NURSE BECAUSE: It's a rewarding, life-long, respectable, well-paying degree with lots of variety.

YOUR INSPIRATION: God, my family, and the nurses in my family (5 nurses and a CRNA ... all love their jobs).

PREVIOUS JOBS/CAREER: TV promo producer; public relations coordinator; high school English teacher; stay-at-home mom/freelance writer

CLASSES for FALL 2006: College Algebra, Chemistry 101 & Lab, Human A&P II, Nutrition, The Studio Experience.

CLASSES for SPRING 2006: Microbiology, Intro. to Psych honors, Intro to Statistics honors, Elements of Visual Thinking I (Design), Art Appreciation, English Comp. II honors.

PROGRAM: Pre-reqs for BSN transfer program.

WHEN STARTED PRE-REQs: Fall 2005

WHEN YOU PLAN TO APPLY for CLINICALS: Summer 2007 for Spring 2008

PROJECTED GRADUATION: Fall 2009.

MOST NERVOUS about: Not having enough time to have non-academic social interaction

WANT TO BE A NURSE BECAUSE: Great way to get into international relief on the ground and improve people's lives when they need it the most.

YOUR INSPIRATION: Always remembering how much I hated working in a NOC with no windows and only the dull hum of the computer equipment in the background

PREVIOUS JOBS/CAREER: Freelance database architect/software engineer and CIO for a small advertising firm.

WHEN STARTED PRE-REQs: this summer (currently taking A&P I and Micro)

PROJECTED GRADUATION: 2008

I haven't enrolled yet (my appointment isn't for another 2 weeks) so I'm hoping this is what my schedule looks like!

CLASSES for FALL 2006: Anatomy, Microbiology, Developmental Psych (Online)

CLASSES for SPRING 2006: Physiology, Chem II (Organic), and Statistics

PROGRAM: ADN

WHEN STARTED PRE-REQs: First semester, kind of. Had to take some pre-reqs for the pre-reqs last semester.

WHEN YOU PLAN TO APPLY for CLINICALS: Fall 2007 (for a Spring 2008 semester). Depends on where we're living though. We're anticipating a move so I'm just taking pre-reqs that I know are required and will apply once I know where we're moving to (we're military).

PROJECTED GRADUATION: Not really sure yet. Hopefully Spring 2010

MOST NERVOUS about: Managing family (I have 3 boys - 6, 3.5, 2) and school while my husband is deployed. Plus I'm nervous about Micro!

WANT TO BE A NURSE BECAUSE: Job flexibility and I really want to become a midwife.

YOUR INSPIRATION: My family, especially my husband and boys. I'm doing this because I want to provide a better life for all of us.

PREVIOUS JOBS/CAREER: Quality Assurance Specialist/SAHM/Student Athletic Trainer. Got my Athletic Training degree from Purdue Univeristy in 1999.

PROGRAM: not sure yet-- very new at this!

WHEN STARTED PRE-REQs: this is my first semester, although I have a full college degree that satisfies many of the pre-req's. Others I need to take again or test out of to prove I still know it.

WHEN YOU PLAN TO APPLY for CLINICALS: not sure yet

PROJECTED GRADUATION: From nursing school? I have a five year plan but it all depends on *life.*

MOST NERVOUS about: getting admitted to nursing school

WANT TO BE A NURSE BECAUSE: lots of reasons. My biggest is because it feels right. Especially after essentially being a full time nurse and advocate for my daughter with special needs. I know more about a lot of her issues and how to care for her (feeding tubes, pumps, etc) than the nurses I am supposed to get advice from because I live with it daily.

YOUR INSPIRATION: My two daughters, for whom I want to provide a better and a paid college edcuation. And my husband and myself. My salary will help us retire more comfortably.

PREVIOUS JOBS/CAREER: Technical Writer, freelance writer, doula (not certified but was working on it and had birth experience), stay at home mom, homeschooling mom.

CLASSES for SPRING 2007 (if you know): Pharmacology (for the ADN program in case I don't get in the BSN program) and some psychology courses (either double major or minor in psychology-haven't decided)

PROGRAM: Hopefully (prayers!) BSN, if not ADN

MOST NERVOUS about: NOT GETTING IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WANT TO BE A NURSE BECAUSE: It's my passion. I want to make a difference, do something in life that I can be proud of, save people's lives and maybe just put a smile on someone's face when they need it the most.
