Question Summer... or no?

My BSN program...requires 2 chem classes; Fundamentals of Chemistry and Organic CHemistry.

In the summer there is Fundamentals for the first 5 weeks, then Organic for the next 5 week session. I was wondering what decision you all would make... to do it or not.

They are consecutive and with the same professor, which is a plus.
The scary thing is 5 weeks!, but they are both M-Th 9-11.
And the fact I am not too strong in chem...

Re: Summer... or no?

If you are in a time crunch then I would definately say yes. The thing I love about summer classes is you are focusing on that 1 class. So, even though the time is crunched you will only have to worry about chem. If you just want to get them out of the way this is a perfect way to do it. The fact that they offer them back to back at your school shows that it can be done. I would do it!

It is always good to take your "bear" classes in the summer.

Re: Summer... or no?

I did an online chem class one summer and it was very hard however I was so glad when it was done. I love those short summer sessions. Good luck, Jules

Re: Summer... or no?

I did my Chemistry class in the summer, too. Four hours (2 lecture, 2 lab) a day, five days a week for six weeks. It was intensive, but doable. I got an A in the class, and I'll never have to take it again. I highly recommend the summer sessions whenever you can get them. I'm doing English Comp I and II this summer.

Re: Summer... or no?

I did both of my Chem's last summer as well. I did them in two separate 5-week sessions (first my gen chem and then the organic/biochem). The first 5-weeks was pathetically easy because I've had many different chemistry classes before, but my organic/biochem was definitely intense. However, I ended up with an 'A' in both of my classes. I love summer classes!
