Stupid question and a sane question :)

Hey everyone. I was accepted into a nursing program (yay!) but I have to fill out a form that says I'm accepting the spot within 2 weeks, or they will withdraw my application. I just went to the post office to mail it and put it in one of those blue mail box things in front of the post office, but I realized that I put it in EXPRESS mail, not the other regular mail box! They looked exactly the same! I know that people who use express mail pay for it before hand, so do you think they will just realize I made a mistake and still mail it?? Or will they have to send it back to me??? I know it's sounds stupid but I'm just nervous because I want them to know ASAP that I'm accepting my spot into the program!!

And now here is my sane question ... I'm actually just curious. Who's still waiting on an acceptance letter? And if you have received an acceptance letter, when does your program begin?

I askied one of the nurses that I work with now (she used to work for the us post offices) they will just put it in the regular mail and not send it out on the express truck,
I am still waiting on my letter; Im on the wait list at a cc and hoping for fall08' but that is just wishful thinking!
Yah for you and your acceptance!!!

I think you'll be fine, but I have to confess. I made a copy of mine and mailed it twice just in case LOL. A lot of people laughed at me, but I'm ok with that.

Our EMAILS (they send emails not letters) go out sometime between this Thursday, and Monday...its getting so close.

When it was application time we all had the flu so I had to mail it. I sent it Fedex return receipt requested. I think it cost me about $10, but it was worth it. I could go online, and see exactly when it got there, and print a copy of the signature of the person who signed for it.

I think in the future for any really important mail where time is an issue I will use them again.

Funny story.

We were fortunate... we were notified and able to reply by E-MAIL (I did check the Read Notification box, though!).

Re: Stupid question and a sane question :)

I sent my acceptance postcard back to school today, Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. The postal employee was flabbergasted...he couldn't imagine what postcard would be so important that I would go to all that trouble and expense. (The card says right on it that if it is not returned, you forfeit your spot!)

Then, when I got back to work, I obsessed all afternoon that I'd checked the "decline" box instead of the "accept" box. So I just now finished e-mailing the receptionist as double insurance.

If I had it to do over I'd have taken a photocopy of the card BEFORE I sent it, just to reassure myself this week before orientation.

I know this is all so, SO crazy. But I want this more than anything and I don't want to screw it up!

Yeah, it kinda brings back the old nightmares of walking into class, realizing that it's the final, and that you forgot to attend... or forgot to drop... or...

I sent application in Registered (or Certified), whichever was the most expensive way, the one where it's kept in a safe at the post office and checked in and out by each person handling it. The clerk also looked askance at me but I figured (and just finishing my first semester, still do) it was the best $15 I ever spent.

Gosh back in the olden days, I interviewed with the dean, she asked a few questions and said OK; first day of classes is....make sure you pay your tuition...... and pick up your advisement papers. that was it.

I brought my letter of intent into the school and handed it to the nursing department secretary. I would have made myself nuts worrying about the mail.
