That's great Keanni! I had an interview a couple of weeks ago at PBISON. I was so nervous beforehand, but they were really nice and I think it went well. Good luck and keep us posted on how it goes!

The interview was good. It was just ono-on-one and was actually quite relaxed. It lasted about 45 minutes and we mainly talked about the school, their curriculum and schedule, as well as, any previous transcripts you may have and what general ed. courses will transfer if you have taken any. As for the standard interview type questions, it was just things like, strengths and weaknesses, what you thought the rule of a nurse was, why you wanted to be a nurse, future goals, and then just the general, 'tell me about yourself' question. They also seemed to ask questions based around your essay.
The person who interviewed me said she thought I had a good chance of getting in. And the people who applied last year and posted on the boards seemed to think that once you get an interview it's a pretty sure thing, so I really hoping it's true. Just really anxious to get a letter so I know for sure. Good luck!

I started out at Hunter and wasn't too thrilled, though there are several Hunter applicants on this forum. I found city tech to be the one place that I got into classes easily as a non-matriculated students, you go down to the school, you put in your application form you tell them what class you want to take and they register you. Alot of the other city school, you have a matriculate yourself to get access to the classes, at least thats what I have discovered. Also, I am taking several of my pre-reqs online, that I clarified with Beth Israel first before I registered for them. SUNY Learning Network, has a huge catalogue of classes they offer and very cheap, my Developmental Psych class only cost me $372 ($117 a credit) and there are still other SUNY community colleges with cheaper per credit costs than that. SO, just to clarify/ summerize
I took
A&P 1 and 2 at city tech
Planning to register for Micro at City tech for the summer
I also took chemistry 1 and 2 at city tech when I thought I wanted to go to pharmacy school.
I am currently taking
Developmental psych through the SUNY learning Network with Herkimer County Community College.
I am currently registered for Nutrition through the SUNY Leaning Network at Schenetdecy County Community College. Im registered for Intro. to Sociology through the SUNY Learning Network with Herkimer County Community College. Im taking both over the summer. ( I can't get over the fact, that ive been to school twice already, have a ton of credits and never took an intro to sociology class) anyway

If you decide to take classes online and have any questions feel free to ask.
Are you considering applying to Beth Israel? The one good thing about them is you don't have to have any of they pre-reqs to get in, the offer all the courses you need within the program. I did all of the pre-reqs, well as many as I could, because I want to get the part time schedule, since I have to work.
Im still waiting for a phone call, trying to keep my hope alive as corny as that sounds but this is the most fustrating situation I have ever encountered.
Hi mystiqx,
I am very interested in signing up for the SUNY learning network. How exactly does it work? Do you have to send in transcripts or can you just sign up for whatever classes you want to take. How is at Beth Israel I have my interview on Thursday and I want to get in the evening program since I have to work. I have all my prereqs except Dev. Pscy, Normative Ethics and Nutrition, so if possible I will like to take all of these over the summer. Is anyone else signed up for summer classes?

Hello
You don't have to send them any transcripts, the network is the main area that the classes are all taken at, but during the registration process you are rerouted to the actual school giving them. If you decide to take nutrition online be sure to take the one that is listed under the Biology section, im not sure if they made changes since then, but thats how it was when i took it. Make sure to clear all classes with the school to, email them.
I'm having a blast at BI i just finished my spring semester. I'm in the weekend program, i am very unfamiliar with the evening program. All i know this year was their pilot year.
Good luck on the interview, you'll be fine, you are pretty much in.

Would you happen to know what the cost of the SUNY learning network is for out-of-state residents? I wondering if I should try and take Ethics over the summer or just at PBISON if the tuition is going to be about the same. How is it at PBISON, I had an interview there last month and it's my top choice out of the schools I applied to. Everyone seems really helpful there.

Thanks alot Mystiqx, I will try right now to schedule for all three, it will be hard for the summer but I would prefer getting everything over. The weekend program is nice but I can't get off Fridays. I can do the weekends and night so getting in the evening program is ideal. Well I hope I see in the hallways this Fall.

the only thing they need is proof of new york state residency, if you aren't a resident then they will charge you the out of state tuition. I talked to someone else before about this awhile back and i had given them a detail rundown on how to register i just for the life of me can't remember where it is
