Maytal, what do you think is the reason why you are on the waiting list? Did you score low on NLN? Or did you hand in your application late?

Same here.I just found out I've been put on the waiting list. I find my case weird rather than being funny. btw Meytal, were you called for an interview before being put up on this list? Also, were they specific as to telling you where you stand on the list? I hope you have a second option at least.

PS: Does anybody know why the remaining folders were closed? I am completely clueless of how they weed out applicants.

Although this question was for Maytal,I don't feel the above two reasons for being put on the list apply. I didn't hand in my application dead early but i know people who handed in later than mine and got their acceptance/denial info shortly after.I also know people who got in with scores lower than mine. I do however feel applying in super early would have helped because although the school says the deadline is April 1st,it appears like the admissions are on a rolling basis.

Re: Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing in new york

Emille-- congratualations, I guess. We are 2 of 15 waitlisted. I would be curious how we find out our actual chances of attending in the fall.

Anyone know anyone who has been wait-listed?

Solvita-- My scores were fine, it's my grades (I assume) that out me in the wait-list pile.

I was not interviewed. I do not have a second nursing choice. I really wanted to attend this school. I did extensive research before deciding. Obviously, it's better to have a range of choices. I don't. That is what it is. I do hope I get in. Good luck to everyone in finding someplace great!

FYI I did not get a phone call to say I got accepted, I actually called the school to find out. I hope everyone gets a second chance

Re: Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing in new york

i don't know what to expect either.you know how the letter states,'they've accepted 120? or 150 of the most qualified already and should a vacancy occur this summer,we'll have a shot. I wonder why any of the accepted applicants would want to drop and with 15 people in queue,my chances appear very slim.
Thank god,at least i have a second school back up or else after having finished all my pre and co-reqs,not making it at Beth would have driven me nuts. I still wish to attend it though
btw,i never had an interview with the school either.

I attended PBISON the open door day, there was a student who talked about how he was on a waiting list. . So, he said that he started program only next year, not the year he applied.

Oh-- I was hoping for something more encouraging. I guess the wait-list is decided after all of the admissions offers have been accepted. So we are waiting for someone to change their mind or defer.

I think you should ask in the admission office what it means to be on waiting list. Is it means that you could be accepted in the fall of this year or is it really means that you are accepted for the next year program.

Re: Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing in new york

the waiting list response form asks if we'd like keep our files open for fall 2008 and if not accepted wish to be considered for 2009/not.
More/less it is like if we don't make it this year,we're given priorities next year. That's the good part.
Bad part: 1 year in the waiting.
