I'm sure there have to be other out there in the same boat as I....I was accepted into a 24 mo. condensed (144 credits) RN program that will start March 31 . I am scheduled to meet with a financial counselor next week, but have already applied for financial aid.
Here is the situation, I am afraid I won't be able to afford to go. They have told us that FAFSA will not cover the entire program. I am having to find a private student loan with a poor credit history (we filed bankruptcy 3 yrs ago). Anyone out there that can relate, suggest, pray????
I am really depressed...it was HUGE that I was accepted, now afraid I can't go. (I do not have a co-signer avail).

Your financial aid office will be the most helpful and relevant resource available to you regarding your question. They should have given you a customized financial aid package if you have submitted the FAFSA and they have your information. If they have not done so yet, and you do not know how much federal money or scholarships you will receive, contact them, now.

After you receive the actual aid available via the financial aid office, you can begin to contact private lenders to provide the remaining balance you will need to finance. Although you have a bankruptcy if you recent past, I would still attempt to contact private lenders and perhaps they can suggest an avenue for you to make this work.

I am getting ready to finance $80K for a two-year program and although I start in September, I still have been advised to wait until I receive the aid package from the school's financial aid office before I begin pursuing private funding.

If your program starts March 31st, your school should be working with you quickly to determine your aid eligibility. I would contact them today.
