Need Information - Patrick Leonardi study guides?

I was just looking at some A&P study guides at Amazon. Patrick Leonardi has a three volume set for A&P and also a micro study guide. They are really expensive, though. $50+ a piece from Amazon or $30 - $40 a piece through the market place. The reviews that are there are pretty good, but there are so few reviews that I don't know if I should trust them. Has anyone used these books? They look cheap in the photos.

I have never heard of them, but if you learn well from study guides get them. I bought a Cliffs notes and coloring books and I almost never use them. I don't have time for them. I spend most of my time studying from my textbook, writing notes, making up flash cards, and going to websites people recommend on here.

They are good if your prof. gives a lot of multiple choice exams. If you have a prof. who gives lots of "label the diagram" exams, they won't be helplful. They are good for reviewing main/important concepts. But over-priced, in my opinion. (I own 2 of them.)

Re: Patrick Leonardi study guides?

Like another poster said, they are good if you have multiple-choice tests. I ordered them for my upcoming A&P classes. They go in depth, and they make for really good review, especially, I'm figuring, before tests.

They may look cheap in the picture on Amazon, but their actually pretty good quality (the paper is like really strong red construction paper) and they have a clear plastic cover. My only problem w/ these study guides is that they have the answers to the questions right under the questions, so you have to cover that up w/ your hand if you really, really want to test yourself like a real test. But, I guess it would be annoying to have to constantly look in the back for the answers (like in most text books).

I (like all pre-nursing students lol) must get an A in these classes, so I'm happy for all of the A&P study helpers I can find. I plan on getting the Microbio one, so I guess I'm saying I totally recommend these study guides. Good luck to us all in our A&P classes!
