A&P Research Paper

I am stressing and doubting that this semester will end well.

I need to do a 3-5 page research paper for A&P. Has to be an aspect of anatomy or physiology or both.

Any ideas greatly appreciated!!

Thankyou!!
Jenny

I had to do something similar in A&P1....I chose a topic that dealt with aging, it dealt with why some people live to be 100 and others don't. Since my teacher was about 1000 years old and I was the oldest student in his class I felt it was appropriate
Eat more cheese from Sardinia and you will stay 25 forever!

Re: A&P Research Paper

If only our Professors 'knew'.

I'm doing searches and trying to narrow something down so I can head to the library tomorrow, I have added aging to my list though.

My prof liked my topic and paper, he thought it was cool
Keep in touch and let me know what will come of this.
Good luck with your research.

Re: A&P Research Paper

Can you narrow it down at all? Is there a particular process or organ that interests you? I'd like to help but it's a bit broad. What type of research paper - quantitative, qualitative, review etc?

Re: A&P Research Paper

I think that is my problem, that I feel overwhelmed because I can't figure out how to 'narrow' it down. This is what the paper says:

Short report on some aspect of anatomy or physiology (or both) that requires you to do research outside of the course text. The report should be approximately 3 to 5 pages in length. Some sample types of subjects:
- The sequence of embryological development for an organ or structure
- The effects of aging on some body system
- A recent medical advance in treatment of a disorder

Re: A&P Research Paper

We have to do a research project as well....but no paper, we're actually making posters....which I haven't done in forever and a half.

My partner and I found this cool study where they grafted bone marrow stem cells onto cardiac muscle damaged from an MI. the BMSC's not only grafted on and differentiated into cardiomyocytes.....but there were markers indicating that local regeneration of the host cardiomyocytes was starting as well. Very cool study.

If you're looking for a cool study, you could try Google Scholar or PubMed Central Homepage

Peace,
Cathie

Re: A&P Research Paper

Well in my area of expertise, I'd say:
1. Stem cells for cardiac regeneration or
2. Left ventricular assist devices for end stage heart failure.

Hah - just looked up and saw the poster above said the same as #1!! If you choose #2, I have about 800 articles about VADs collected on my computer and I'd be happy to share.
