Nursing students going into CRNA school?

I was wondering of anyone was taking pre-nursing courses with the intention of eventually becoming a CRNA? I am interested in becoming a CRNA, but need to talk to some people who have researched it more. Thanks!!

There is a forum specifically designated for those who may be considering pursuing CRNA programs: http://allnurses.com/forums/f227/

Not me, Bicster!

I don't care how much money they make, CRNA is not something I am interested in. FNP is more "me."

I agree with you though.....I hear lots of students talk about pursuing CRNA later on.

CRNA school my ultimate goal too! But, I'm going to pace myself and work as a regular RN for awhile first. I hear CRNA school is hard, but so is nursing school and I'm not giving up on that dream either!

Seriously, you are dead on. At least 1/3, if not 1/2 of all my classmates talk about it. About half of those people don't really understand what it is, they just heard it pays really well.

LOL...no doubt...i wanted to be one too until i shadowed one and realized that for me it was incredibly boring. Too bad cause the pay date would have been nice but i just can't seem to do something for a living that I find boring.

Re: Nursing students going into CRNA school?

I shadowed CRNA's a few times during high school and I learned a lot. I plan on applying to graduate schools for both nursing anesthesia and nurse practitioner, but I haven't decided yet (even though I'm leaning more toward anesthesia!) You can always look up information about CRNA's online, and I recommend shadowing a few to see if that's what you really want to do. Good luck with your studies!
