Right on, my first degree was in communications, so not much transferred over for prereqs. But that score gets me in next fall pretty much guaranteed.
All my friends are EEs, MEs, and AEs.

Hello everyone...a newbie to the forum.
I took the test last week and received my scores yesterday. I scored a 122 composite score with an 84th pecentile.
I did well on the Math and not that great on Science and Verbal. I knew I would have a hard time with the verbal reading passages. Unfortunately, ran out of time and had to guess about 15 questions....yikes!
Anyhow, for those of you who are taking the NLN exam, I can only suggest that you study as much as you can, I did for a month and wish I had more time to study. The test consists of 80 verbal questions in 1 hour, 54 math questions in 1 hour, and 80 science questions in 1 hour. I felt I had a lot of Chemistry and Physics questions...don't really care for Physics at all!
I've been out of school for 14 years and felt I did pretty good overall, considering I didn't take Chemistry, Physics and a whole bunch of other stuff in school. Congratulations to all those who did well on this forum, it was nerve racking to say the least.
Now, I hope I got a good enough score to make it into the program January 2008.

Congrats!!! Have you checked with your school to see what the cutoffs have been for the last few semesters? I did that and it helped me to determine whether or not I thought I'd get in. I know Fall '07, the cutoff was 83% and the previous semester (Spring '07) was 87% and my previous score was an 85%, so I wanted to take it again just to try to do a little better and ended up with a 92%.
I bet if you called, they'd tell you what their cutoffs were...definitely helped me out!!!
Best of luck to you!!!

HI just getting to know the community
Took the NLN in September got my scores
composite 137
95 percentile
dont really get it
my school bases it on a point system point for all the preReqs then points for working in the health field, points for residency n the county... points for degrees earned blah blah blah... oh and your GPA is the total points form a 2.5-4.0.... Add them up!!!\
I got the max score for the NLN... 90-99% is 10 points....
80-89 is 8 points... and it just goes down from there..... I feel okay but who knows/..... last year the lowest score to get into the parttime program was like 16.5 or something... I had higher then that before the NLN.... God I hate waiting... They said a decision would be by mid october.... WE are all waiting in my pharmacy class....

 to allnurses!
Congratulations on your Pre-NLN scores! Nice job!
My school takes all applicants so long as they can pass the accuplacer, which is a basic apptitude test to help weed out those who can't even handle basic skills. There is a two+ year waiting list and during the wait, most applicants will take their generals and sciences. My husband says that it's another way to weed out those who couldn't handle the nursing program. Those sciences are hard!
Anyway, I applied in November 2006 and was given a projected start date of Fall 2009. As I see it, I will be moved up to Spring 2009 with a slight possibility of starting Fall 2008. I didn't have to take the Pre-NLN for this school but gave them my grads in hopes they would push me up on the list with my 144 composite. No luck . I did have to take the Pre-NLN for another school I applied to. They told me I have a seat for Fall 2008. I'm waiting to hear about the first school, however. It's closer and in an area I know better. I'm jealous of all you students who apply and start your program within months! My only upside is that I get all my generals done while I wait.
Good luck! I hope you hear soon!

Hi allnurses,
I took the PAX-PN exactly 2 weeks ago & got my results back exactly a week later (it helps to live in NY).
Funny thing, I wasn't home to get my scores but I asked my sister to read them to me over the phone. I asked her my composite & she gave me the percentile instead of the score so there I am thinking I did horribly . Fortunately, when I got to read it for myself, the feeling went away (154 comp).
Now, I'm waiting on the ATI which I'm not worried about but the waiting game isn't nice (we have to call the school for the scores and, as of my last call, they weren't in yet).
Hopefully, I can post that I got called for the interview soon.

Hi Echo166,
I also had to take the ATI test for the school I want to attend. The scores are not in yet. Are you attending school at Monroe College?
Good Luck, you did very well...hope you get the call for that interview shortly.
Take care,
Jay

Sounds like PBCC. I'll be there next Fall 08. Doing all my prereqs now. I took it about a month ago. 98th Percentile, 148 composite.
If you have the ten points from the NLN and all the prereqs done, you're pretty much guaranteed in any program. Full Fall, Full Spring, or Part Time.

WOW did not think of it that way.... kids in my class got like 4 points and 6 points and they are bit... about how they have a 4.0 and how hard the classes are and how hard the NLN was I was like it was no big deal but I ran out of time on the math and started xmas treeing it.. and the same for science... I always use to finish as fast as I could on tests... just to get done... I took my time and realxed and almost ran out of time.... I thought I really bombed becuase I like just filled in like 10 questions when time startred to run out...
53/60 verbal
34/40 math
43/60 science
