New years resolutions??

Since the soonest I can start the nursing program here will be next January ( on a hope and a prayer) I have decided to take a semester off. I plan to get my house in order, volunteer more at St Vincent De Paul, and also at the elementary school- spending more time on how my boys are doing in the classroom. Although I feel guilty for not taking any classes, I do have the time to spare ( only micro left), and I just need to focus on other things for a while. After 3 years I need a break.
I am also vowing to excercise 4-5 times a week and watch the sweets. What are your resolutions this year??

# 1 To continue to stick to my low fat diet and lose 75 lbs by my 50th BD in September. I'm down 27 lbs and counting.

# 2 To take and pass the med-surg certification test.

#3 To quit spending money on things I really don't need and don't have the
space for.

#4 To start and be successful with my own Italian Greyhound bulletin board.

#5 To snap my family into reality and make them see that they need to clean up after themselves because I'm only one person. #5 is always the bugger, maybe this year......maybe this year......I still believe in miracles.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE !!

First, some background....I'm starting my co-reqs in January so I'll have them out of the way when I start nursing school in the fall.

My resolutions:
1. To work hard and do well in A&P and Developmental Psych.
2. To lose weight by eating healthy and exercising. (I don't want to start school in the fall overweight!)
3. To do what I can to minimize the impact of going back to school on my husband & daughters. (They are supportive & excited about my decision, and I want to make sure I'm still there for them in the ways that really matter. They may have to deal with a messy house and less homemade meals, but those things won't hurt them.)

1. Doing well in nursing school.

2. Keeping my finger nails short with no polish

3. Growing my hair out, to pull up for clinicals.

4. Get buff, so I won't be mistaken for a marshmellow in whites and I'll be able to lift & turn patients with ease.

5. Take my kids swimming to the pool as often as I can this summer.

6. Make it to church sunday school & events more often.

7. Go on more dates with hubby & kiss more.

8. Study for the NCLEX-PN

9. Try to keep these resolutions!

Here's my list...

1. to lose the 25 lbs I gained this past year. It's been a long 12 months, attending a Patient Care Tech course during the day, and completing my Nursing prerequisites in the evening. Damn those vending machines!

2. Study more often. Achieve higher grades.

3. Stop obsessing over grades...

4. Perform more volunteer work.

5. Control my temper when people speed down my 20 mph street (we have tons of children) To myself: Gwendolyn, keep the middle finger to yourself...

6. Take a vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
