Re: NET prep questions

I PASSED....GOT THE LETTER TODAY, I PASSED

I got an 80% on Math and the standard score of 64% on my reading.

Actually, I was thinking I did alot better on reading.

But, whatever, I got the scores I needed and that's all that matters...

Now, to sit and wait to apply next winter...hmmmmm.

now what do I do??

Re: NET prep questions

i just tough, that you could consider it depending on how competitive you program is, that is all!

just trying to help !

I hope you did not have a NET trauma, because what is to come will be waaaaay more complicated

Re: NET prep questions

your composite is 72,

at my program, the last student to be accepted had a 79.

i am just giving you advice, trying to help you.

if your program is not competitive, you are safe, in the other hand, if the program is competitive you will have to see if your GPA and other admission points wheight enough to cover a 72, other whise i would consider retaking it since you have had your experience with it.

a 72 is passing but on a competitive course that might not be enough unless you have a great gpa and a great overall admission in other to compensate for that

...anyways you passed it and i am happy for you! great job !

Re: NET prep questions

Well, I don't know what you mean about "competitive". You mean, academically competitive? I'm going to a community college that doesn't put alot of stock in GPA and composite score. Passing is passing. They sent a letter with my results and said This is the bare minimum that you can get and still pass the NET. We've heard of some that barely passed and got into the nursing program. Plus, I don't know if you've read my other posts, but I went to the same college and graduated in 1999 with a 2 year degree in Surgical Technology. They will take me back in a heartbeat.
They give priority to Surg techs and to respiratory therapists. They reserve spots for them in each nursing class.
If you mean "competitive" in terms of a huge waiting list, YES, we're copmpetitive. But like I said, I am guaranteed entry due to being an alumni in the medical field already.

Just FYI

Re: NET prep questions

Carlos, I have to laugh, because your first post says that because we are natively born to America, we should be able to do better than you did. I have taken the practice test put out by this same company, and honestly the hard part isn't the math. Or even the reading comprehension. It is the grammar stuff. There are many Americans who have no idea what the rules are.. The national average for this test is a 69. Your score is way above that. I take it on Monday. I keep going over the grammar stuff.

At our school we have to take the test to get points. A composite score of 80 will give us all 7 points possible. I just hope I don't choke and have a bad day!!!
