I got my info too, I can't believe how quickly everything is moving!!! I'm going to the campus on the 12th for the exam and stuff. I'm also very eager to get my financial aid information. It's exciting and scary at the same time.

hi! i actually JUST got back from the campus. got fitted for the uniforms and took the math test...we also went to the financial aid office and they said the stuff was just mailed yesterday, so we should be getting it today or tomorrow! woot! that's WAY better than having to wait til april!!! there were only like 10 of us there today, so i imagine its gonna be a bit more hectic next week, but at least you'll get to most of the people! there was only 1 guy there today - so im interested to hear if there are any more there next week!

Final word of advice....

Start a yahoo group and share everything. The only way we all got through this program was by sharing study guides, papers, giving each other helpful hints, and keeping each other updated. If someone created a study guide, we all shared with the entire group. If someone created a template for a project, it was posted for everyone to see. If someone was having a hard time, we all helped each other. Just remember, you are not in competition with each other. You all can do well.

Hi I'm new to the site and came across this thread. I'm still completing my undergraduate career, but I feel like I am too far in it to transfer to nursing school now. MSMC's AccBSN program sounds really appealing and I noticed that you guys got accepted.

I know it's pretty competitive, but do you have any advice for someone who really wants to get in after graduating college? Any tips on anything I should start doing early on before applying in a couple years?

I'm not attending MSMC, but I did apply and know a fair amount about their expectations. First, I would highly suggest attending an MSMC Nursing information session that are held at the Doheny campus. They answer any/all of your questions and are very friendly and helpful. Second, they do emphasize that two of the strongest criteria they admit based on is your GPA in the core science pre-reqs and the interview. You will also need a 3.0 cumulative GPA (all college coursework you've completed over your lifetime).

I'm sure there will be others coming along with more information shortly.

hi! well i'm so excited for the program to start, especially after going to campus for the fitting. there were a ton of people there, probably around 30 and defintely more guys (about 4 or 5). it was great meeting some of the other students and sharing how we are all in this together and like flyingfish said we want to help each other out, it's not a competition.

i was really stressed last week because i was challenging the anatomy/physiology exam and that was the one thing that could have held me back, but i passed! it would have been heart breaking if i failed especailly after meeting the people in our program.

well like asherah said, go to an info session. since you are still in undergrad, definetly try working all your pre-req's in, the mount has some specific ones like so try and get those done and make sure they meet the requirements. if your gpa isn't up to par...take more classes to bring it up, you need min 3.0.

also, be careful as far as when you have taken your core pre-reqs since those need to be done within 5 years of starting the nursing program. other tips, volunteer or get some exposure to the field if you haven't already. but basically, if you meet criteira, your application (essay, grades, etc) will get you in for the interview, that is where you need to sell yourself.

No, I haven't received an email either. They said if we've already used webadvisor then we are halfway there. Tanesha said not to worry too much since everyone is taking the same classes it's not like we won't get in to a class.

First off, contratulations to everyone who is attending MSM this year!
I am still working on pre-requisites and am hoping to apply to a whole bunch of California schools in 2009.

Can anyone clarify for me if General Chemistry fulfills their chem requirement? Some nursing schools want the integrated "Chem for health sciences" and others allow General Chem.
