hi all,
I am in my first semester of a 4 semester full time ADN program. I love it (or I should say I know I am going to love being a nurse!) One thing you need to get used to is the multi-tasking that is required...they threw so many different angles of study at us all at once it was pretty overwhelming and 10% of the class was gone in the first 2 months!
It was almost like the military where they were obviously trying to push us to the limit-which I think is understandable when you think of the requirements to be a nurse, it's certainly not for wimps!

Basically everyone got into the program based on academics so how will they know if students can mentally hack it unless they try to swamp us? I guess that's their plan!
Once we got past the constant reminders of how many different ways you can fail, all the things NOT to do, etc. we were fine. I think.

The most important thing that I did was to set up my system of organizing notes, handouts, calendars, etc. and stuck to it. Like a fanatic! It has saved me so many times I can't tell you. And LOTS of those 1x1 post it notes were great too-use them to flag pages in your textbooks, notebooks, handouts, etc.
Good luck and keep your eye on the prize!
