I got my letter from Nassau Community College. I have been turned down 2x now. I will reapply to the department in the Spring. I also applied to the radiology technology department for the fall. I hope either department will take me.
I'm so sorry, I know your bummed, butt if this is your dream I know it will eventually happen for you. I would retake a class to better your score, or If you already have top scores, mabey get into a cna class and get some health care experience, if you don't already work in health care. Good luck!
Chin up......sometimes we encounter obstacles in our life that seem so daunting. Stay true to what you want and never give up. In my early twenties I wanted to be a nurse, but let life and people get in my way and sway my descisions. Now here I am 38 and in nursing school because I finally get that only I can bulldoze through tough times and situations. If I'd had this inner strength back then I would already have ten years experience under my belt (hindsight etc, etc). Take stock of your situation. If there is more than one school you can apply to...do it. If not, think about moving to an area that does have more opportunities. If that's not an option....apply again next year, and the next, and the next. Basically never give up. I wish you the best of luck!!
If I were you I would contact the nursing department and ask them why your were denied 2x, maybe you could correct the problem before applying for the spring semester. Meanwhile, keep your eyes on your prize.
This school is pretty secretive about stuff like that. They said they rank according to gpa and mine was too low. I think that it is the C+ in math that is holding me back.
