Probably; a C counted for 2 grade points where I went to college and if you had 12-16 hours of 4.0 and 3 of 2.0, it could drag your GPA down quite a bit.

See if you can retake the math class and substitute a higher grade for the lower one; if you can't, try taking a couple of other pre-requisites or support courses and making As in them to raise your overall GPA. Two As won't cancel out a C but if you don't have many hours to begin with you might be able to raise your GPA enough to get in the next time.

The school might not want to give too much away but many schools do have profiles/statistics of their successful applicants. Ask about those.

It's probably is the Math!
Take the math over.
Your GPA has to be over 3.5 overall to be considered for nursing, although a friend of mines was accepted into the R.N program with a 3.41 gpa.
My GPA is 3.42 with the spanish and 3.51 without the spanish.
I was accepted into the Respiratory Therapy program.
I would take the Math over.
Even with Respiratory Therapy, you have to have a B or better in math.

Then take the Math again...if the nursing department won't give you the stats...then talk to the Dean.

Re: I got rejected again

In my school you have to get an A in algerbra and score a 90% or higher on the math proficency exam. Take the math over. In my school, C's are the equavilant to failing. I have heard that if you get even one C in the nursing program, you get kicked out of the school.
