Re: I got in:)

I just want to say good luck to you all in your upcoming success!!!
I'm in my second year of nursing, and boy...I didnt know HOW much work it actually was.

Some advice:
1. Time manage
2. Prepare
3. Attend all lectures...if you miss one, youre not in good shape!
4. Listen!
5. Study notes when you get home so youre not cramming info into your brain the night before!

I dont know if that helps at all, I'm sure all of you already know this...

I wish you all good luck!!! Have fun, and maybe I'll see you around somewhere!!!

Re: I got in:)

So today I went to the hospital to get my physical done...my orientation is monday The doc tells me I have murmurs in my heart..the doc is new resident..very nice...however she puts on my physical that I have those murmurs in my heart than she tells me ' I dont know what the school will do about it..." Im like what??? So I go back to my school's health department to discuss this unexpected matter...So my school's nurse is all fricked out about what the doctor said...she is like 'when you pick up the labs tell her to write down on the physical that even though you exhibiting the murmurs in your heart you can still work! From my 'green" perspective I believe that doc will not do that because she is not a fortuneteller and doesnt know if those murmurs are dangerous to me. Now what I believe what will happen is she probably will send me for EKG...here I am thinking everything is nice and smooth the visit payment so far so good, only $149) and then this...bumer..

Re: I got in:)

I had my orientation today..picked my classes today and clinical site...I picked a really good hospital so I get exposed to a lot of experiences...I arleady made a buddy, we will have clinicals together Exchanged the phone numbers etc...Later we purchased uniforms, I only ordered one pair..for 87 dollars With it came lab coat and uniform jacket..the uniform is ugly...the colors sucks.....blue top with buttons and white pants I picked size S...Oh my god I hope they wont shrink but in M I look like elephant Shoez they wanted $ 60 for them no way...that is way to much...and we got the opportunity to order our books...and let me tell you because of this site I looked like a pro to all this new nursing students...When they were picking up like a medical dictionary I was like' oh dont buy this one...and dont buy the pocket medical dictionary, buy regular medical dictionary, take TABERS..and buy DAVIS drug GUIDE is the best...and buy SAUNDERS review books...and people were like' oh is so good to have you here to help Everything thanks to this site..Well anyway I bought cheap stetoscope since I had little money left from uniform purchase, I got purple one with additional accesories like scissors, pocket organizer, penlite, and pen..Then they gave us food party...they were very nice...
