I didn't win the ADN lottery. It is ok, since it wasn't my first choice school, or my second, or even my third. I did "want a date to the prom" though, and would have gone with whomever asked first. Certainly I was hoping to have choices! Oh well. I am still waiting on my first choice and should get word in the next week, and if that doesn't work out, I at least have numbers for 2 other schools and should be in by Spring. If that is the case, at least my house will get clean while I wait.
So hard to trust that it will all be just as it should. My husband reminded me that I will get in when and where I belong. True enough. Now hand me another Corona so I can cry in my beer!

First of all, YOU ARE NOT A LOSER!!! You still haven't heard back from your "number one guy" for the "prom", eh? Maybe he's the one. AND even if he's not, you will most likely have a date by Spring. Plus your house will be clean, which may not seem like much now, but it will be one less thing to think about when you start nursing school... and you WILL start nursing school one day! I know it's hard, but just have faith that whatever happens is meant to happen. Everything you are going through now will make you so much more grateful once you do get into NS, and it will motivate you to work that much harder and be the best nurse you can be! I don't know if you're religious or not, but I say leave it all up to God! It is hard to have faith sometimes but He knows what He's doing; He has a plan for you that's even bigger than the plans you have for yourself! Good luck and God bless.

I know how you feel '-_- I was seriously depressed for like a week after finding out that I was rejected to two of the three nursing programs I applied to. I have one more chance, so we'll see what happens. But I'm in the same boat as you, so I understand. Just keep your head up and good things will come your way. Just remember you have all of us on this forum for moral support.

Thanks, you guys (gals.) I am done with my pity party. I don't really think I am a loser, I am actually very fortunate and blessed in all the most important ways. Mostly, I meant I was not a winner, re: the lottery. Really, to me a loser is a quitter, and that I am not!
I am just going to try to focus on the cat I know I have in the bag ... 2 schools guaranteed for Spring 09. If I get into the CSU for fall, well that will just be a bonus.

I am sorry to hear that the lotto was not in your favor. I know how you feel. I have applied to 3 schools that are ADN and over the last 2 years (4 semesters) of applying I have not been selected either. It is really hard to accept that you were not a "Lucky" to win the lotto, I haven't been "Lucky" myself.
What programs did you apply to?
I have applied to the CC's here in Sacramento.
Keep you head up! You still have your 1st choice to hear from!

That's THEIR loss. They missed their opportunity to have a great nursing student. But have the Corona anyway.

Hotflashn, you know I'm in the same boat as you. But we are not losers. You will get into NS either w/CSUEB or the other schools. Don't give up. I haven't. That goes for everyone trying to get into the program. We can't give up because it took us so long just to decide what we want to do, then to get into the impacted Pre-sciences courses by having to either take it in the summer or whenever we can get in. I even went so far at to take my science courses at three different colleges just to ensure I was enrolled in these class. So don't give up and don't ever think of yourself as a loser. You have such a long medical background that you will succeed and make through this hurdle. The onle ones who are losers are those who give up and I know you are not one to do that...
