I'll (hopefully, most likely, almost defenitly) be attending McLennan Community College in Waco, Tx. For the LVN its 30 and the RN is 65 , each fall and spring. I never believed all the hype about a nursing shortage until now. Our school has changed the deadline from April 1st, to April 18th, to May 9th as they have yet to receive enough applicants/ qualified applicants. We work on a 'points' scale for the LVN program here, the maximum possible is 18, and I'm at 14, and was told by the program director's secretary that of the 20 applications they have recieved, only myself and another have that many (11 points is considered 'competitive'). In addition, she also informed me that many of those 20 applicants also applied to the RN program, in hopes that if they are not accepted they have a back-up. Several years ago they had 200+ applicants for both programs. Sad, really, but it sure makes me more hopefull of getting an acceptance letter!
