Re: How many students did your nursing program accept for your class?

168 for Fall... which is when I plan on applying. I hope I get in for Fall because if not they only accept 144 for Spring and 96 for Summer. I know that's more than most schools, but my school doesn't do interviews they base admissions solely on GPA and test scores and then only take the top applicants (and there are TONS of applicants) each semester. So if I don't get in for Fall, I'm basically screwed. Here's hoping I get in for Fall.

Re: How many students did your nursing program accept for your class?

As of 2007-2008 period : San Francisco State University’s School of Nursing receives 800+ applications for the BSN program each year. Only 80 are admitted each Fall semester.

I should add:

SFSU’s School of Nursing ONLY admits for Fall semester for the BSN program. However, only 40 students begin their nursing
coursework in the Fall semester. The other 40 students begin their nursing coursework in the following Spring semester. Therefore,
it can take students anywhere from 2.5 – 3 years to complete the BSN coursework.

At West Virginia University...70+- direct admission from high school and 70+- from around 300 applicants! I am one of those 70 accepted applicants! What a relief! Now the real work begins.

Re: How many students did your nursing program accept for your class?

My college accepted 16 students in the program the term I applied and was accepted.

I am so grateful that I had no idea how limited the slots were until after I got my acceptance letter.

Re: How many students did your nursing program accept for your class?

I'll (hopefully, most likely, almost defenitly) be attending McLennan Community College in Waco, Tx. For the LVN its 30 and the RN is 65 , each fall and spring. I never believed all the hype about a nursing shortage until now. Our school has changed the deadline from April 1st, to April 18th, to May 9th as they have yet to receive enough applicants/ qualified applicants. We work on a 'points' scale for the LVN program here, the maximum possible is 18, and I'm at 14, and was told by the program director's secretary that of the 20 applications they have recieved, only myself and another have that many (11 points is considered 'competitive'). In addition, she also informed me that many of those 20 applicants also applied to the RN program, in hopes that if they are not accepted they have a back-up. Several years ago they had 200+ applicants for both programs. Sad, really, but it sure makes me more hopefull of getting an acceptance letter!
