How does the TEAS test compare to the NET test?

Re: How does the TEAS test compare to the NET test?

The NET basically has reading and math sections whereas the TEAS has those plus sections on elementary physics, Anatomy, and life science. It was definitely more complicated than the NET. If you've done your pre-reqs all those subjects may come very easily to you. I was in need of a refresher and found the ATI study guide to be worth the price.

I took both tests and agree that the teas was more complicated. To me, one wasn't alot harder than the other, just that the styles were different. I scored better on the math than reading on the net, but the opposite on the teas. The teas study guide really helped, lots of refreshers. Good luck to you!

I have taken both and the Teas was sooo much easier. It was like a 3rd grade skills test. The NET was easy also. I found that the reading is a bit tricky but the Teas was much easier.

Brittney, I believe you are thinking of a different exam, perhaps the TABE (which tests your skills and aptitudes in reading, math, and English).

I found the NET test to be very easy.

The TEAS however is more difficult, particularly the science section. This part of the exams tests your knowledge in earth science, life science, chemistry, physics, etc.

So if it's been a while since you took any science classes, brush up on your basics on all of these areas.... and good luck!

Re: How does the TEAS test compare to the NET test?

I agree with what most people have said. I've taken both the TEAS and NET and I concur that the NET is easier. The only real difference between the two is the Science portion in which covered most of general science was much more difficult in the TEAS than the NET

I have a TEAS study guide and the material looks like its about 12th grade AP level. Third grade level?? For a really advanced 8 year old maybe ....

Re: How does the TEAS test compare to the NET test?

Although I thought both tests were pretty easy, I have to be in the minority here and say that for me, the TEAS was easier. But that's likely because of the difference in the English/Reading sections of the 2. It's my weaker area. My math score was higher than English on the NET, and it was like that for me with the SAT too, so I'd say that if you are significantly stronger in Math/Science, the TEAS might be easier than the NET for you too.

Also, I've taken a lot of advanced science and math courses, so that showed in my TEAS score. People who have only had the nursing prereqs are at a slight disadvantage IMO because I know that a lot of the material on there was not covered in mine, but I had learned it from other classes I took. There were still a few questions on the TEAS that i simply had never learned (science-wise).

Everybody is different, so perhaps, like me, Brittney found the TEAS easier. Just study a review book and you'll be fine!

No I meant the TEAS(Test of Essential Academic Skills), never heard of the TABE. Had to take the TEAS for entrance into one nursing program i applied to and had to take the net for another I applied to. Neither test was difficult, but the TEAS (as I stated before) was easier to me. I think it was the reading section on the NET that makes me say the TEAS was easier. Got an 88 on reading section for NET and 98 on reading for the TEAS.
