Re: Food And Nutrition Spring 2007

I'm considering taking nutrition this summer. Thing is, I'll be taking organic chem, too. Some I'm trying to figure out about how much studying nutrition requires. It's not a light-weight class, is it? But yet it's not like A&P either, right?

Re: Food And Nutrition Spring 2007

I read all the ratemyprofessors.com reviews of my class, and they all made my instructor sound awful - and we only have one choice. Just goes to show you how subjective those can be! I think our professor is great! The class is 8:30-11:30 on Tuesday mornings, and she actually holds my attention the whole time. She uses powerpoint, but gives her own lecture instead of reading it to us. I may come back and edit this once we have our first test on Tuesday, but it doesn't seem like it should be that hard. Our class isn't heavily chemistry based, and all we are graded on is three multiple choice tests.

I've found that most of the people that use ratemyprofessor.com are people that were dissatisfied with their grade, and decided to take it out on the teacher by saying they suck. I went to the site and checked out my professors for this semester, and although I think they are all great, most of the ratings were fair-poor.

Re: Food And Nutrition Spring 2007

Yeah, now that I've found that site I try to review all my professors, good or bad, just because it's nice to have any extra info out there. I might as well give back what I can and try to make it well rounded.

Re: Food And Nutrition Spring 2007

The nutrition class I took didn't take a lot of effort to get an A. The lectures were interesting as was the book. Seriously, one of the easiest As to receive. Organic chemistry...you gotta work in that class!!! Nutrition with organic is very doable. You'll be thanking your lucky stars to have at least one easy class with a high demanding one.

Re: Food And Nutrition Spring 2007

Although I received a 97% on my Micro Test, I received an 81% on my first Nutrition test. This was due to me neglecting this class. This will not happen again LOL. Good luck to everybody. I have a test first thing as soon as Spring Break is over.

For those of you that are taking your nutrition class online, would you mind sharing with me who you are taking it through? Also, what is your experience?

Thanks!
Kens

I am taking it through my university. Two sections of the class are taught online, as opposed to the majority of classes, which are classroom setting. opted for online to reduce my time on campus. I really like it. It's straightfoward: we read the chapter, take an online quiz (no time limit!), and we have have 4 written assignments and a final dietary analysis project. Everything but the final project is completed or submitted through the online system. The e-mail communication between the professor is fast, and you can post questions or have discussions with other students in the class through the web portal. It's pretty nifty, in all. The nice thing about the class is that it is self pace. Hopefully I'll be able to finish up a few weeks before classes end, so I can concentrate on my other final exams! PM me if you have any more questions!

Hi MMW. Uh-oh....I just registered to take nutrition online this summer at USF. I didn't think it would be too bad, but now I'm a little nervous
