Re: Fish Oil...

I am not taking the pill, I am taking the liquid form of fish oil. It does not taste good, but I know it is going to help increase my memory. I take a tsp every morning. I am use to the taste now after taking it couple times. The liquid form works faster, but you get the same results at the end. For many people, I think the pills would work better.

Re: Fish Oil...

I take fish oil softgels and the first thing I noticed right off the bat was it stabalized my blood sugar. I can't live without it now!

I buy this kind from Spectrum at the health food store:

Here is a really good link talking about the various fish oils and contamination (mercury and dioxins):

Re: Fish Oil...

I have not tried them but I read somewhere that even with the stabilizers they use the fish oils and pills go bad really quick, and rancid fish oil really wreaks havoc on your body - lots of free radical damage is caused by this apparently. They recommended buying small quantities and keeping it in the fridge. I also wonder what it is in the fish oil that helps memory - if it is Omega 3's you can get them in flaxseed which tastes alot better! I put ground flax in oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, etc. Let us know if this works - we can all use that memory boost!!!

Re: Fish Oil...

I just watched a show on PBS regarding how the brain stays "active" and healthy (or not) in the latter years of life. Studies showed that if people walked 40 minutes a day, 3 days a week; their attention and concentration improved by 11%..hmmm... Just I thought :>

Re: Fish Oil...

Has anybody tried Nordic Naturals Omega-3 gel caps? My Nutrition teacher takes them and she's all aglow and healthy. I bought them and the bottle recommends two a day after meals. These things are safe right? Nordic Naturals seem to be a reputable brand. Any ideas?
