Very good thread!!!

OP, I am a former social worker. It is absolutely my calling in life to serve others. I am not a trust fund baby and I am not married to a wealthy man. Therefore, making poverty level wages got old real quick and I too am becoming a Registered Nurse rather then waste money trying to become an MSW. Good luck to you. May you find the right position that is a good fit.
