What are your thoughts about taking Bio and Chem together next semester? Is it doable or should I split it up?

Many have done it, but like anything else, it varies with the individual. One thing to consider is that you will probably be spending a significant amount of time in labs each week.

Re: Biol and Chem

I took Bio and Chem together last semester and had no problem with it. Actually, some of the information covered is repeated. It is a lot of Lab time though. Just study and read your text and you should be fine.

Thank you for your thoughts. I think I will give it a try.

Re: Biol and Chem

If you think you can do it, you can. I always took 2 sciences at a time and always did fine. The farther into the science pre-reqs you get, the more you will see how they are all kinda intertwined and have a lot in common.

I will never forget my first semester back to school and everyone telling me I was crazy for taking on 15 hours including Chem and Anatomy and 2 other classes....I made all A's and loved every second of it! I had 2 kids, a husband and a job. But everyone is different and only you know yourself.

Good luck!

Re: Biol and Chem

Actually, in my school, if you want to take A&P you have to to take Bio and Chem together. They're two classes that are designed to be taken together (Cellular Bio and a survey class of gen, organic and bio chemistry). So go for it!

Peace,
Cathie

Re: Biol and Chem

I am currently taking biology and chemistry together and it is not bad at all. They aren't making me attend any labs for it, though, just the lectures. I guess I lucked out. Its only the 3rd or 4th week of school but I'm doing fine with it.

Re: Biol and Chem

It's doable. I'm doing it now. Unlike some other readers, I'm not in two courses that are designed to go together, but so far (yes, it's only week 2) I'm finding the overlap is valuable as mutual reinforcement between the two classes.

Re: Biol and Chem

I am currently taking Anatomy and Chemistry, and I don't think it's that bad.

The best advice I have, especially regarding Anatomy, is to study your material every night because it really is a ton of info and you don't want to get behind.

Anyway, you can do it. I also have two toddlers and a husband, and so far taking Chem and Anatomy together has not bothered me.
