Help! - bad grade anatomy ii

I just finished anatomy 2 and ended up with D. I did fairly well in lecture but not in lab even though i had tutoring, etc. It was at a university vs a jr college. I will need to retake it. Does anyone have any advice to give me or has anyone else had similar experience in anatomy such as mine?

Thanks

Did you go to ratemyprofessor.com before you chose your class? A lot af valuable information can be found out from that site.

As a matter of fact, My A&P I professor gave labs that were turn in assignments and spent a lot more time on lecture with extremely difficult exams - but I knew this in advance....guess how.

I have not taken Anatomy ii yet, but I do know if you retake it soon you will still remember a lot of information from the class you just took. Also, if you retake it with the same professor the class will likely be taught in the same way with the same/similar assignments and tests. So, you should try to retake it soon if you can. It will be easier the second time around.

Re: bad grade anatomy ii

Did you do badly in lab because you had trouble memorizing material, or was it for another reason? It's important for you to analyze why you didn't do well so that you can do things differently next time around and SUCCEED! Best of luck!

If you can take it at a jr college and it still count for you, not only is cheaper but normally easier.

Re: bad grade anatomy ii

Don't count on "junior college" anatomy being easier. I am at a community college, and my professor is extremely demanding. 2/3 of the class dropped to go to an "easier" professor. Also, my professor received really negative comments at ratemyprofessor.com. Guess why?? Because he is demanding and expects you to know the material. I had a BSN new grad tell me recently that I was very fortunate to have this sort of training. She said it is a huge help if you know your anatomy and physiology well. So although I've had to worked my tail off this semester, I am VERY grateful to my professor for demanding that we know our stuff. Do you want a nurse working on you who failed A&P? Not me, thanks.

Bottom line, A&P is tough, especially the second half. But I'll bet you dimes to donuts that the info from this semester will play heavily in nursing classes. I just KNOW fluids and electrolytes will be star players. Might be worth consideration to take it again over the summer. If it will make your life easier in the long run...it would be worth your time. Don't necessarily go for "easier"...go for understanding. Second time around might make more sense. Hang in there. You CAN do it.
