Re: Anyone working full-time and going to school?

I work full time and take 2 classes per semester. It's very tough and it will also take me several years just to get the pre-req's out of the way. Very challenging and requires a lot of patience and time management.

I have to work full-time, and Im considering doing LPN school full-time because it is only a one year program. Just wondering how your schedule is.
I am currently working 2 jobs, 1 full-time and one part-time. But my in laws are going to live with us so I can quit the 2nd job and go to school, and we can split the bills in half. Seems like a good solution for us.
I know I'll even be able to study at my full-time job during down time (which is usally alot of downtime). So that is a great plus too!

Re: Anyone working full-time and going to school?

This Spring semester that just ended I worked 36-48 hours a week and took 10 semester hours worth of classes. I took Microbiology, A&P 1 and Developmental Psych. I'm single with no children so that made things a little easier for me but at the same time I had no life. I barely had time to watch a television show. I finished the semester with an A in Developmental Psych, a B in Micro and a C in A&P 1. I'm not proud of my C but it beats getting a D. I can't and don't blame anyone but my self because I should've focused more on school and less on work.

I work 12 hour nights. Go in at 6:30 pm get off at 7:00 am. My classes were on Mon, Tues, and Thurs, so basically I'd work Tues, Thurs, and some day during the weekend. I'd leave my apartment at 9:00am and wouldn't see it again until 7:30 am the next day. If you do plan to go to school and work full time, might I suggest you try working the weekend that way you'd have the whole week to just focus on school.

Thankfully, this summer I'll be taking one class. A&P 2 then in the Fall I'll only take one class (Intro to Nursing). If all goes well I'll start the ABSN program in Jan of next year. If you believe in the power of prayer, please say a special one for me. Thanks!!!
