Anyone attend/applying to Univ. of South Alabama?

hey guys!

just wondering if anyone has attended or is attending or applying USA. Specifically, the 12-month accelerated BSN program.

ANYTHING you're willing to share is welcome. My two specific questions are how many are accepted (also, if you know how many usually apply) and the tuition for out of state.

MUCH appreciated, and can't wait to hear frome everyone!

Re: Anyone attend/applying to Univ. of South Alabama?

Hey there!
I finished with my BSN in the Summer of 2005 at USA, and have been working at the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile since that time. I have a previous BS in Finance from USA back in 1983, so I went back for my second degree as an "older student". The course of study was pretty tough in comparason to my first degree, but it is "do-able"! I took two semesters of pre-requisites in order to get into the College of Nursing at USA, and then finished in two years. I knew some students who took the accelerated cirriculum, but I feel that there is so much to learn that it would have been too much for me to digest in order for me to be ready for the HESI and NCLEX exams. I am proud of the degree, and feel that the College of Nursing is a good one, and is well rated in the State of Alabama. I am looking into going into travel nursing after having placed one year in as an RN in Mobile. Good luck to you!
